However, we do have a public safety alert for our west metro neighbors: authorities are asking for help finding 52-year-old Maxim Chance, a man with dementia who was last seen at his home on the 14000 block of Minnetonka Drive around 6:30 a.m. on May 20.

Minneapolis

A 16-year-old boy is dead following a double shooting in Minneapolis' Near North neighborhood Thursday evening. Police responded to the 1300 block of 18th Avenue North around 5:30 p.m. on reports of multiple shots fired, launching an ongoing homicide investigation.

The Minneapolis City Council has enacted a six-month moratorium on some new data centers. The pause applies to large facilities but specifically exempts data centers smaller than 350,000 square feet or any that fall within the downtown core.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Health Secretary RFK Jr., and Dr. Mehmet Oz are expected in Minneapolis today for a "major" federal fraud announcement. This follows the federal indictment of two Minneapolis men in a $3.6 million Medicaid housing fraud scheme involving North Home Health Care LLC and South Home Health Care LLC.

A federal judge has set a new deadline in the civil case regarding evidence access connected to the Minnesota ICE shootings. Separately, the lawyer for an ICE agent charged with pointing a gun at rush-hour commuters claims the agent did not "initiate" the incident, pushing back on Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty's previous statements.

In lighter news, "A Bar of Their Own," a Minneapolis women's sports bar, has been named the top local sports bar in the US by a USA Today readers’ poll. Over in the restaurant scene, the popular spot Borough announced it will close in late June after 13 years, making way for Revival to take over the space.

Dash cam video recently captured the arrest of a southern Minnesota police officer in Bloomington, who was found to have a blood alcohol concentration over three times the legal limit.

St. Paul

A Ramsey County deputy has been charged after allegedly sending explicit messages to undercover accounts posing as minors. 34-year-old Chadd William Muellner is facing two counts of engaging in electronic communication relating or describing sexual conduct with a child.

A semi-truck tipped over in southern Minnesota, causing a fuel spill into a nearby waterway. The St. Paul Fire Department dispatched its Hazardous Materials Team to the scene to help mitigate the environmental impact.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has temporarily suspended the license of Nexus Family Healing's psychiatric residential treatment facility in East Bethel. The state cited an immediate "risk of harm" to residents at the facility.
