West Metro Fire Rescue and CEAP Launch Major Food Drive. St. Louis Park Declares Snow Emergency. St. Louis Park is among the metro cities that have declared a snow emergency ahead of this weekend's major winter storm. Residents should move vehicles off emergency routes immediately to allow plows through — check the city's website or social media for specific parking restrictions and route maps.

Spring Parade of Homes Now Open. The Spring Parade of Homes is running now through April 12, featuring more than 300 homes across the state, including properties in the west metro. Homes are open for touring every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — a great chance to see what's new in local construction and design.

Fatal Shooting on Hennepin Avenue. Minneapolis police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Hennepin Avenue South. Police believe the victim was with a group when gunfire erupted from outside the group. A separate shooting around 1:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of an apartment building injured another man — police are investigating both incidents.

Minneapolis Declares Snow Emergency. The city has declared a snow emergency with parking restrictions in effect as the blizzard bears down.
